I’ve gotten into the habit of saying, “I love you, Lord” when I open my eyes in the morning, It’s a quiet, simple, and gentle reminder to my heart that God comes first. Life is more beautiful when we keep Him in that place. I’ve learned how the path gets difficult and disappointing when I elevate a person or a possession into the top spot. Where God belongs, nothing else fulfills.
I believe in being a lifelong learner. There’s always room to gain wisdom, build faith, and be a clearer reflection of love. When we move from earth to eternity, we’ll see face-to-face the Savior who loved us so fully and perfectly that He gave His life to prove it—and in the giving, put us in first place.
For it is from God alone that you have your life through Christ Jesus. He showed us God’s plan of salvation; he was the one who made us acceptable to God; he made us pure and holy and gave himself to purchase our salvation. As it says in the Scriptures, “If anyone is going to boast, let him boast only of what the Lord has done.” 1 Corinthians 1:30-31
