About

I was born in Ohio and grew up in a small town near a great lake. I have two sisters and three brothers. They’re still my best friends! I knew I wanted to be a writer when I was eight years old. How did I know? I loved watching the people around me. I liked to make the people around me feel special. It was easier for me to express myself quietly, on paper, so I began scribbling poems and writing songs.

When I was older, God turned the desire of my heart into an opportunity to encourage people around the world through the social expression industry—which simply means I wrote greeting cards. Thousands and thousands of them over a span of 20 years. I didn’t know at the time, but it was the job that paved my path to writing books. As you live out your story here on earth, you can be sure of this: God wastes nothing. Your days are preparing you for and propelling you toward your purpose.

I’m grateful every day for the privilege of sharing how deeply God loves and values each person He miraculously, meticulously, makes. You are one of them, and I’m happy you’re here!

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
In Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

Psalm 139:14 & 16
