On October 6, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote this: “In the formative days of the Republic, the directing influence the Bible exercised upon the fathers of the Nation is conspicuously evident…We cannot read the history of our rise and development as a Nation without reckoning with the place the Bible has occupied in shaping the advances of the Republic.”

“Stand up, O God, and judge the earth. For all of it belongs to you. All nations are in your hands.” (Psalm 82:8)

Father, let Your truth be engraved on the tablet of our hearts. Fill the minds of our leaders with the power of Your word, the wisdom of Your ways, and the love that will change our world. Be present in every area of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Administer your final authority throughout the U.S. government and bring unity at the foot of the cross. Amen.
