His destiny was the cross. His purpose was love. His reason was you. 

Jesus embarked on His earthly journey to secure our eternal home. Love is at the center of His coming and our going. The psalmist wrote, “our days are few and brief, like grass, like flowers.” Realizing and receiving the unconditional love of our Savior is the only way to live our lives. Nothing else reveals our true worth. We can subscribe to programs, teachings, workouts, and all the accumulated wisdom of this world—but none will fill the deep-seated, hollowed-out space held for the sacrificial Lamb of God. Jesus is everything heaven has to give…and He is all we will ever need.

Long ago, even before he made the world, God chose us to be his very own through what Christ would do for us; he decided then to make us holy in his eyes, without a single fault—we who stand before him covered with his love. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And he did this because he wanted to! Ephesians 1:4-6

She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
