Our adversary is one we can’t see, but must recognize.

I was blessed to meet a whole bunch of kind people at a book signing this week. There’s one hope of healing our nation right now, and it’s God’s 4-point plan. Humility, prayer, love, and repentance. Put more directly, God alone. Apart from Him, there is no way to defeat the division threatening to destroy us. Our adversary is one we can’t see, but must recognize. As sure as the sun rises and sets, God is faithful, and we need Him now more than ever.

A.C. Dixon, a pastor in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, wrote, “When we depend on man, we get what man can do; when we depend on prayer, we get what God can do.” From the dawn of the country we now celebrate as home, evidence of God’s mercy is undeniable. He is in the business of miracles. (excerpt from God Bless America, Scriptures, Devotions, and Prayers for Our Nation)

If my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
