There’s an authenticity that flows naturally from us as a result of discovering our truest self, by being more intimately bound to our Creator. You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book! (Psalm 139:16) When our spiritual wholeness becomes the priority, our love for God outgrows any pursuit of earthly possessions. We learn that busyness does not lead to happiness and accomplishment does not sustain joy. The Holy Spirit helps to transform our thinking through truth: Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (1 Timothy 6:6-7)
Many programs, diets, opportunities, and pastimes in this world offer fulfillment, but fall flat on the follow-through. God keeps His promise of a purposeful and satisfying life—and it’s powered by the Holy Spirit. Supernatural gifts have a staying power unlike anything the world can offer us—and they bring the fulfillment that has the power to sustain us. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and satisfies every need there is. (Acts 17:25) —excerpt taken from Journaling with the Holy Spirit
