What we want most.

You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Psalm 139:3

We can’t know what tomorrow looks like or what we’ll face on the journey ahead. What we can know is that God knows. If we get to a point on the path of our life where we need to stop and rest, God will let us know it’s what we need. It might not make sense. It might not look like great timing. It might not be easy to do. Trusting God can sometimes feel like cliff diving into dark waters. But God knows when we need to step away from things in our life to rest and refresh our spirit in Him. Preparation is a necessary part of God fulfilling His purpose in us. He can’t level up our calling or increase His power in us and through us without drawing us closer to Him. That pull often comes in adversity.

God will use our resting time, our waiting time, to build His relationship with us. He’ll move us to a place of knowing that He’s what we need most—and we’ll come to the revelation that He’s what we want most. (excerpt from Devotional Coloring Book: Cozy Moments to Calm Your Heart)
